Bush says gave up golf in solidarity with Iraq dead

 

What a sacrifice it must be for the Texan...to give up golf so that the parents who have given up their sons and daughters in the imperial banditry in Iraq feel empathy for their President who gives up something as important...

"I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the Commander-in-Chief playing golf," Bush said in an interview with Yahoo and Politico.com.

No, but the mom would be frantically overjoyed to see the 'Commander-in-Chief' hurling more men into the war and denying the dignity of the dead by repeatedly lying to his people and to the world.

Its quite funny to see how the ivory tower of the ruling class becomes so evident in statements that almost seem like Freudian slips (though not in the case of the US president with his evident lack of intelligence)...

To have the notion that giving up golf is anyway comparable to empathizing with the parents of the soldiers who are dying in Iraq (most of whom would never be inside a golf course anyway - due to the deliberate targeting by the US army of poor neighborhoods for their 'volunteer army') is evidence of the yawning difference in priorities by the different classes...

Bush shoots off his mouth and thus opens himself to derision. A Bill Clinton would never have said it but would have felt the same set of priorities...

Marie Antoinette and her court was guillotined as vengeance for living in the same ivory tower. The cake statement may or may not be true, since there was no Internet to catalogue her view. Bush would never be brought to trial, let alone executed for his crimes. For victor's justice is never denied. We remember Auschwitz but forget Dresden.

Yet for all that there is simply no difference between the idiot queen of France with the most powerful man on earth.

The more things change, the more they remain the same(or the French would put it more eloquently - "plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose").

If history is a cycle, we live out the maximum period in the farce stage...
