The things right under our noses...

Sometimes its so easy to forget the joys that are right under our noses. We look so fiercely into the future that we forget the things that matter are right in front of us and becoming fleeting because we choose not to look at them...

Until sometimes when we choose to, even if for some moments...

Like the look from the terrace from my house which has become so commonplace to me now that I literally dont even look at it. Only when a person coming for the first time remarks how beautiful the place is, do I acquire a fresh pair of eyes and actually realize how peaceful it is around me and that hundreds of birds are chirping around me. How many places in Delhi can boast of that?

Or the joys of listening to my grandfather talk about his days and the small juicy stories and gossips of his time and loving him and feeling grateful for all the time I have been able to spend with him. How many times in our lives do we want to treasure somebody's company forever?

Who else would know about your non-observant nature other than me? ;) The recent being the Red Fort - Jama Masjid episode. But, in your case you observe things which are just beyond a common person's poor naked eyes. You can actually un-layer a layered person. Even in the case of nature, when you start observing it, it's amusing to listen to your whole philosophical, poetic analysis of the otherwise stagnant, static so-called God's creation.
